Museum of History of architecture of ancient Pereiaslav

Exposition:
The museum opened in May 1982 to celebrate the 1500th anniversary of Kyiv. Pereiaslav Ruskyi is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine. Pereiaslavska architectural school left us fine examples of architecture of ancient Rus, which, unfortunately, hadn’t been preserved in its original form to our days. As the result of excavations that are being held for several decades 10 stone works were revealed. Among them we note Mykhailivskyi cathedral built in 1089. Currently part of his foundation is uncovered and a pavilion is built on it. An exhibition on the history of architecture of Pereiaslav of times of Kyivska Rus expands at the pavilion, where excavations files, drawings, reconstruction of archaeological sites of Pereiaslav architecture of XI - XII centuries are shown.
